ANZAC Day

Went for a run and visited some war memorials.  Many towns planted an “Avenue of Honour” after the Great War to commorate the local fallen soldiers.  New Zealand, then Australia, had the highest casualty rate of the war, other than the two main protaganists, Francc and Germany.

The "Avenue of Honour" leading into Woodend.

The Woodend avenue is about 2km long.
